Jed Editor Info
============================================================

There's an in game level editor in Jed, it's fairly basic
but fully functional (I used it to make all the levels in
the game). So I thought I should right up how to use it in
case anyone feels creative.

If there's sufficent interest I might well spend the time to
make a more intuitive and better integrated version, but
this will suffice for now.

Getting Into The Editor
=======================

The editor can only be accessed if you give Jed a filename
to use upon startup. Otherwise it's disabled (to avoid
accidental activation). To start Jed with a specific level
run "jed levelname.lvl" from a command line or similar. If
you use a location that doesn't yet exist you'll be given a
blank level, and the file will be created the first time you
save.

Once you're in the game use 'Ctrl-e' to toggle into edit mode
and you're away.

Editing Controls
================

Left and Right arrow keys - Scroll around level.

Left Click - Place selected tile at current location.
Middle Click - Select tile at current location.
Right Click - Remove tile at current location.

Hold Space - Bring up a pallete of available tiles.
Left Click whilst Holding Space - Select tile from pallete.

Ctrl-g - Toggle between overworld and underworld.
Ctrl-e - Toggle between editing and playing.
Ctrl-b - Completely Blank level (you will not be warned!)
Ctrl-s - Save level (you will not be notified!)

Playing Custom Levels
=====================

I'm afraid that at the moment the only way to play
 non-builtin levels is to start Jed from the command line
as per initiating the editor. i.e run "jed mylevel.lvl"
from a command line or similar.

Wrapping Up
===========

Well, I think that pretty much covers the editor as it is at
the moment. Hopefully it isn't *too* hideous to use, but I
do appreciate there's a lot of room for improvement.

If you make anything even vaguely interested, I'd *love* it
if you could send what you've done to piglet@ignika.com
(just attach the ".lvl" files). Oh, and let me know if
you'd be happy for me to put them up somewhere, if there's
interest I'd love to share what people are making.

Thanks very very much for your patience, and for playing.

Cheers,
  MrPiglet
